Stephens, Waring & White--The Spirit of Tradition

Or, as we like to say– “The Cutting Edge of Tradition”

Stephens Waring and White is located in Brooklin, ME, and we are a vibrant yacht design firm solidly grounded in our commitment to the beauty of traditional and modern yacht style and proportion, and we endeavor to combine that beauty and grace with top-notch performance.  We have become known for our “Spririt of Tradition” sailing yachts– as we were designing in this genre before the genre had a name.   However, we are also quite enthusiastic about our growing repertoire in powerboat design– especially with respect for the new and exciting market of low-impact fuel-efficient power yachts.  We are a fully functional and capable design firm that is grounded by our vast experience in boat building, of which is exemplified by the naval architecture and engineering that is embodied within our designs.

Our range of services spans from project management to consultancy, from performance analysis to systems specification, from naval architecture to engineering, and from conceptual design to finished product.

High on our list of the attributes of “high performance” is cost-effectiveness: we are always searching for the least expensive way to solve a problem.  This is the primary reason that many of our custom yachts have been designed for modern wood/composite construction; as an engineering material, wood offers a great deal of flexibility and our methods can save large amounts of money in tooling costs.  However, we are known for our creative approach to common problems and thinking “outside the box”.  When it comes to choices and specification for materials, we will engineer and design the project accordingly—whether steel, aluminum, fiberglass, carbon, or wood our objective is to produce sound structure that is capable of meeting the demands of our high performance standards.

Mission:  Our goal is to combine traditional standards and modern vision to achieve elegance, high performance, and value…design that displays exceptional distinction.
