Paul Waring continues to write about the Corisande refit project at Yachting Solutions— 1955 vintage Huckins meets modern Volvo Propulsion
Two packages were considered and we worked on them together, and parallel to each other, until we had enough data from each representative to base a sound decision. On the ZF side of the equation, our client [...]
This lifting keel daysailer could be sailings’ version of the automotive industries’ “Crossover” concept in a Cadillac Coupe Deville. Rivolta Yachts, the well known Florida powerboat manufacturer, will commence production on the “Vintage 43” with plans to bring to market an easily managed, and well-appointed gentlemen’s day-sailer, delivering fingertip sailing and plush accommodation. The [...]
Paul Waring writes about Corisande— 1955 vintage Huckins meets modern Volvo Propulsion
When our client first came at us with the need for our help on getting this project off the ground, we were working with him on a 44 ft planing power yacht design of very light weight and minimal accommodation. This is a high [...]

Hey all,
Thought I would share this video footage from Billy Black. He did a really nice job on the day that Zogo was launched in Late November. Watch the YouTube link below to see some footage of the launch under construction and in the water.

An interesting project landed on my desk this week. We’ll be helping to recreate a 1929 Gold Cup racing hydroplane!
The project is a collaboration with Mark Mason of the famed New England Boat and Motor, who brought the client and will rig and power the boat, and Brooklin Boat Yard, who will build the hull [...]
Just a quick post about what is happening today in the world of SWW Yacht Design! It’s all fun and exciting stuff as we churn through engineering data and calculations to determine the structure needed to keep the yachts’ ballast bulb in place.
The quick screen shot allows you to see what we have decided to [...]
The new W-37 for W-Class Yacht Co. is a bit of a departure. When Donald Tofias, president of W-Class, contacted us to talk about a new pure daysailer, we were very pleased. We have enjoyed working with Donald on several earlier projects, like the spectacular W-76’s and W-46’s, with their slender hulls and graceful overhangs.
Last week we gathered our tools together—laser level, long tape measures, and straight-edges—and “shot” the chainplates aboard Va Pensiero, the 48’ sloop that will get a new, taller mast and higher performance sail plan next spring. “Shooting” the chainplates lets us determine their location in three-dimensional space, relative to the boat’s hull, deck, and mast [...]
ZOGO emerges from the shop
On a chilly day just after Thanksgiving, a breakthrough yacht slid out of the cozy shop in Belfast, Maine, where she had spent the past year coming to life from a pile of aromatic cedar and carbon fiber. Zogo is the brain-child of a collaboration between the owners who had [...]
