Fellow yacht designer John Brooks http://www.brooksboatsdesigns.com/ was on the water spectating for the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta, and captured these great images of several of our boats.
At the Mark
Here are three of our designs at the mark where we hardened up to return into the Reach, about 2 miles from the finish. To windward is White [...]
We’re well into the regatta season here in the Northeast, and it’s been a fantastic season so far! The weather gods have smiled on us this summer, and the last two weekends have given us some sailing that’s been hard to beat. We’ll hope to have some great images for you soon from the three [...]
A recent follower asked for some more photos of the W-37 cockpit layout, and through the kindness of another follower, we can show you some fine photos. These were taken in the last few days, after Race Horse’s crew had had a chance to add some nice touches, like the life rings…

Race Horse graced the waters of Newport Harbor with her presence this weekend. Sailing trials left everyone aboard with big grins! Eight knots of boat speed in five knots of wind– what else needs to be said?
You'll be able to tell who's sailing past!

Once planking begins, it zooms right along. Here are some snaps of the W-37 getting her four skins of planking.
The first layer is Port Orford Cedar strip planking– tongue-and-groove stock 7′16″ thick. It’s glued and screwed to the frames and bulkheads, and edge-glued together.

She’s built in an interlocking “egg crate” construction method, where the [...]
Just a quick post about what is happening today in the world of SWW Yacht Design! It’s all fun and exciting stuff as we churn through engineering data and calculations to determine the structure needed to keep the yachts’ ballast bulb in place.
The quick screen shot allows you to see what we have decided to [...]
The new W-37 for W-Class Yacht Co. is a bit of a departure. When Donald Tofias, president of W-Class, contacted us to talk about a new pure daysailer, we were very pleased. We have enjoyed working with Donald on several earlier projects, like the spectacular W-76’s and W-46’s, with their slender hulls and graceful overhangs.
